Barge Winches

Manual Barge Winches (Set of 2) – Model 25 R & 25 L

Two heavy-duty, hand-operated barge winches, available now from our Quincy, MA yard. Each one has a large spoked handwheel that drives the drum through spur gearing, giving strong pulling power with no engine, hydraulics or air supply. These winches suit deck barges, work floats and spud barges, and they're also good for dockside mooring and line handling anywhere without power.

They're built for hard marine use. Each winch has heavy steel side frames bolted to a flat steel base plate, so it can be mounted to a deck with little extra work. The drums on both come spooled with wire rope.

• Winch 1: Model 25 R, Serial No. 12-3-69
• Winch 2: Model 25 L, Serial No. 12-19-69

Features:

• Handwheel drive with spur gear reduction

Condition:
Used, sold as-is. These are older units with heavy surface rust and peeling paint on the frames and base plates, as you'd expect after years in a marine environment. The core parts (drum, gearing, handwheel and frame) are all there. They're good candidates for cleanup and put-back-in-service, or for use as-is on a work barge.
